Public Sector Purchases

Public sector organisations can be invoiced for orders placed on this website
(as an alternative to pre-payment methods).

Setting this up involves a simple 3-step process and is applicable to publicly funded organisations such as:

  • Government Depts
  • Councils
  • Hospitals
  • Education
  • Military

 

 

Setup Procedure

Please note setup is not an instant process so if you need goods urgently we recommend purchasing using a Payment Card (e.g. Visa, Mastercard)

To set up Payment on Account for Public sector organisations we need to link your online credentials (email address and login) with a credit account. This will enable your organisation to pay for online purchases by bank transfer once the goods have been delivered.

To protect both parties, we need to verify that the email address registered online is authorised to place orders on behalf of your organisation.

 

STEP 1   Register

Register an email address and secure password (which remains confidential to you), including the name and billing address of your organisation.

STEP 2   Email us

Email [email protected] from the email address you have registered, confirming you are authorised to order online on behalf of your organisation.. 

  • Please check that online ordering on account is an acceptable purchasing method for your organisation. If not you will need to email us Purchase Orders instead.
  • If invoices must be emailed to a specific person or department in order to get paid it is your responsibility to inform us.
  • We may request supplementary information to complete the approval process.

STEP 3  Checkout without a card

We will notify you once your account is approved and set up.
For approved accounts the Checkout will now display an additional payment method: Bank Transfer enabling you to complete the purchase without the need to enter card details.

  • Any items you previously added to your basket should already be saved for you in the Checkout, or you may continue to browse and shop.
  • When you reach the Checkout, enter your email address and you will be invited to Log In with your password.
  • You can also Log In before reaching the Checkout to register additional delivery addresses and view previous or saved orders etc.
 



Frequently asked questions

Is there a minimum order value?

For your first online order a minimum order value of £50 (ex VAT) applies. For lower value orders please use a regular pre-payment method (e.g. card payment).

Can we register multiple individuals to order on account?

Yes, provided each individual registers using the above procedure. As long as we are notified we can link multiple logins to a single credit account.

Can I use a personal email address to register?

No. Any registered email address must be derived from your organisation's domain. For example, we will not accept Gmail or Hotmail email addresses.

Are we eligible for a payment on account facility?

Public sector accounts include State Schools, Colleges, Universities, Local Councils and Area Authorities, Government Departments, National Health Service, Fire Service, Police Authorities, Ministry of Defence, National Parks Authorities, Magistrates' Courts and Local Authority Sports Centres. If in doubt please call us on 01489 896999.

Can I append a PO number to my online order?

You can insert a Purchase Order number in the Special Delivery Request box during checkout. This will then be printed on the invoice we email to you.

Do I have to pay VAT?

Yes. VAT is chargeable. Your accounts or finance staff will know how to reclaim it as part of your regular VAT accounting process in accordance with government legislation.

When do we have to pay your invoice?

Invoices are due for payment within 30 days from the end of the month in which goods were shipped. Unless you have provided us with a separate finance contact you will be personally responsible for ensuring payment reaches us on time. Late payment may result in additional charges.

Are goods returnable?

Public sector purchases are classed as Business-to-Business (B2B). Please refer to our Returns Policy for details of the various returns scenarios.

Will Sign-Holders complete our supplier registration process?

We will only complete your supplier registration process if the initial order exceeds £300. In this case, a purchase order must be emailed to us, as online ordering is not suitable for organisations with administration-intensive ordering requirements.

Does Sign-Holders have a modern slavery policy?

Discount Displays Ltd, trading as Sign-Holders, has a turnover of less than £36 million and is therefore exempt from the requirement to publish a Modern Slavery Statement. However, we are committed to ensuring there is no forced labour or human trafficking within our business or supply chain.
